(Columbus, North Carolina)– Women are the fastest growing segment of new gun owners and concealed carry permit holders; in fact, The Washington Times reports the number of female concealed weapons permit owners has increased more than 200 percent since 2007. This figure doesn’t account for ownership in the eight states in which permits are not required. New communities supporting this movement are springing up. Owners of Lady In Lead, Eva and Matt Lobel, are both CCW holders. When Eva became a permit holder, she realized it was difficult to find great quality, affordable options in Concealed Carry Clothing. Eva affirmed, “I looked around, and almost all stores focused on men, or I had to visit many different sites to get all the items I needed. Women can sometimes resort to men’s clothing in a pinch. In the case of t-shirts or button-downs, smaller men’s versions or larger children’s sizes can be used when necessary. This is not an option with concealed carry shirts as these articles need to be snug and form fitting in order to securely hold a firearm. Whereas men can easily hide pistols in the smalls of their backs clipped onto the waistbands of their pants, ladies’ jeans aren’t designed to allow for the extra bulk and weight of a firearm. In addition, women have a wide range of styles and need more flexibility in concealed carry options than a man.
